Hyundai has come a long way from being known for making cheap and easily broken cars. The Korean manufacturer has stepped up their game and is now producing vehicles of excellence, such as the Hyundai Porest camper van. The Porest's name is a combination of the word "porter" and "rest" to create "for rest". It is 223 inches long, 83 inches wide, and 115 inches tall, so one should be cautious of parking it in underground garages.
The Porest is powered by a 2.5 liter diesel engine that produces 133 horsepower and 191 pound-foot of torque. Though it may not be the fastest vehicle on the road, it is comfortable and stable at highway speeds and comes with safety features such as lane keep assistance and forward collision assistance.
The interior design of the Porest is well thought out and takes convenience and elegance into account. It includes a small stainless steel kitchen, a small shower and toilet, fans, air conditioning, and a command touchscreen that controls lighting, heating, cooling, and battery water monitoring. The Porest also has a hidden slide feature that can expand the rear bedroom into a comfortable mattress-filled space for two. The Porest is not currently available in the United States, but if it were, it would start at around $41,000.
